Over the weekend and for the 3^rd time, I played Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow 101 board game at the Billionaires in Training (B.I.T.) gathering organized by Generis Solutions. Even though, it was my third time, I still learnt something new. The circumstances or should I say the situations that played themselves out in the course of the game continue to be so real to human existence that they just continue to keep me in awe. So, I thought to myself, if the principles are so true to life, why not share them with my beloved readers.

-        Opportunities are everywhere: I’ve blogged on something close to this topic before (you can check the archive to read up on it) and the more I played the game, the more I realised opportunities are available to us more often than we realise. They are available to us more often than a lot of other situations of life. So, the problem is not lack of opportunities, the problem is lack of awareness and identification of the existing opportunities. I am sure some of you may ask ‘How do I become aware of or hear about these opportunities? There’ll probably be so many ways but I’ll just highlight 2 that I practice:

 

In my little sojourn in life, I have learnt that in order to receive more, we must show gratitude for the little we have. Everybody appreciates a show of gratitude from someone they have been nice to. Gratitude is most often exhibited by saying ‘Thank You’, however, there are many other ways in which it could also be expressed.

 

Our fathers expect us to show some gratitude for sending us to the best of schools (atleast, the very best they can afford), Our mothers expect us to show gratitude for cooking for us, Our husbands expect us to show gratitude for providing for us, Our wives expect us to show gratitude for taking care of the home and the children and much more. Wow! After such a busy while, what a wonderfully perfect day to write a post. Hope you’ve done something significant enough to remember today? If not, it’s not too late to do so. I saw the most fascinating definition of POOR a while back and I couldn’t help but agree with it totally. ‘Poor’ was used as an acronym which stands for:

O – Over

R – Repeatedly

I played the most awesome game over the weekend. I must say that I have played many games, but there is absolutely no game like it. The game lasted over 4hrs and after it all, we all agreed on one thing … it was time well spent. We were going home wiser, more deep in thought as to the state of our finances and above all, more financially intelligent and clear about
