OPPORTUNITIES: ARE YOU REPEATEDLY PASSING THEM OVER?

I saw the most fascinating definition of POOR a while back and I couldn’t help but agree with it totally. ‘Poor’ was used as an acronym which stands for:

P – Passing

O – Over

O – Opportunities

R – Repeatedly

The truth is we encounter opportunities daily. The question is: how many of us take these opportunities and run with them? We usually do not notice but more opportunities to succeed and triumph come before us daily, as compared to misfortunes and yet many are still lamenting, languishing in agony or in procrastination and such, have not achieved much.

Attending the Billionaires’ in Training and playing the Cashflow board game further imprinted this fact in my heart. I didn’t realize it on time until towards the end of the game that in the rat race, an opportunity came at every other box i.e. opportunities appeared more often than misfortunes or ordinary situations. This meant that, everyone had several opportunities to get out of the rat race into the fast track and be financial free, yet only two out of six teams were able to do that.

Isn’t it just like our everyday lives, when we hear about or come across opportunities to attend seminars, take up the leadership of something, start our own business or invest in something tangible? Some immediately take advantage of such opportunities, while others are skeptical, keep weighing it or thinking about it until the opportunity has passed by and is no longer available. Ofcourse, you need to weigh these opportunities well to determine their essence or profitability, but not until they are no longer available. We need to learn to make quick decisions, for opportunities work with time and time as they say, waits for no man.

So, make up your mind that you would no longer be an example of the acronym above. With a conviction in your spirit man, say to yourself, “I will no longer be POOR”.

I hope you have taken out time to say it. If you have said it, keep your fingers crossed. In my next post I’ll be keeping you abreast of some beautiful opportunities that must not pass you over. Till then, keep Reaching.

Passionately committed to raising you to great financial heights,

Derin
